Chris' Rantings
Every month Christoper Lees' musings - or "rantings", as some of our members are wont to describe them - on life and food in Purbeck are published in the "Corfe Valley News" and "Isle of Purbeck Gazette". So if you have a taste for the esoteric or the unexpected, or indeed for the occasional glimpse into the realities of a farmer's life today, just click on one of the following topics:
Nitrate Vulnerable Purbeck and Paperwork Paperwork Paperwork! (June 2009)
A Taste of the Future (a discourse on the taste of whelks, chicken and vegetables - July 2009)
Shock, Horror! Meat Starts Life as a Baby Animal!! (about coming to terms with the reality of meat production - August 2009)
Dorset Food Week, Celebrities Welcome (how even a celebrity chef can miss a trick)
Killer cows? Just be careful. (understanding how cattle can behave - September 2009)

Giuseppe Sanguglia
Before coming to Purbeck, Giuseppe worked for Marco Pierre White at The Criterion, Piccadilly and spent two years as Head Chef of Carluccio's close to Oxford Circus. You can learn from him at his cookery school (located just outside Corfe Castle) to craft exquisite dishes from the wealth of our local fish, meat, game, fruit and vegetables.

The Purbeck Environment Action Team, known to its friends as "PEAT", is supported by several Purbeck Products members.
PEAT describes itself as "a group of like-minded people from Purbeck working to raise awareness of environmental issues whilst bringing the community together to develop and promote ways of living in a less wasteful and more self-sufficient way."
So visit:
PEAT - for a general introduction, or
Transition - for a more detailed explanation.
