The 530 acres of Andrew and Claire's Rempstone Farm range from the chalk downland of the Purbeck Hills to an assortment of wet grassland, dry heathland and wet heathland on the lower farmland towards Poole Harbour. These habitats foster an unusual level of biodiversity, with several SSSIs (protected sites of special scientific interest) and a number of rare species.
Andrew spent 13 years managing a big mixed organic farm in Staffordshire. This was an
invaluable experience learning about many aspects of modern agriculture, but he
and Claire were keen to break away and to run their own business. Since arriving in
Purbeck they have methodically built up their cattle herd and sheep flock,
whilst at the same time working towards ?full? organic status.

Andrew and Claire have developed a variety of products:
organic beef from pedigree North Devon Ruby Red cattle,
organic lamb from Lleyn sheep,
organic chicken eggs,
organic chicken and - last but by no means least -
organic turkeys (Bronze) for the Christmas dinner table.
Claire explains her enthusiasm for Cedar Organic products: "It is the the type of forage in Purbeck which gives our products their special taste. For example, our chickens live outdoors where they simply go everywhere - sometimes venturing out into the hedgerows - and so they eat clover and a wide variety of insects and seeds."
Cedar Organic products can be bought at the farm shop, at Purbeck Product events and markets, and on alternate Thursdays at Wareham Farmers Market.
